For the 4th of July, Erin and I got a room at the Beachcomber Hotel, http://www.beachcomberflorida.com/hotel-home.asp, which is the hotel that also includes Jimmy Bs, http://www.beachcomberflorida.com/jimmy-bs-beach-bar.asp. While my parents my brother, Tammy, and Sam got rooms at Howard Johnson St. Pete Beach, http://www.hojo.com/HowardJohnson/control/Booking/property_info?propertyId=01487, which is located right next to the Beachcomber. They actually had rooms booked for the whole weekend at Howard Johnson, while we just stayed for the night.
When we arrived that afternoon, it was a fun relaxing day hanging out together on the beach. After a bit, my Dad, Erin, and Tammy took a walk up to the room while Chris and Sam were snorkeling for sand dollars. My Mom and I decided to hold the fort on the beach, relaxing under the canopy that Chris set up talking. After awhile, the wind started to pick up, and a strong gust lifted up the canopy and sent it tumbling up in the air and over the sand. While chasing after it, I had the assistance of a few individuals sitting on the beach, and brought it back to our spot on the beach. During the whole ordeal, I ended up losing my beer, plus a pair of sunglasses to the sand. Chris and Sam then came out of the ocean, we ended up packing it up, and going up to the rooms.
