Janice's Benefit

On Saturday night, Erin and I headed down to the Ringside Cafe, http://ringsidecafe.net/, where we were going to support our good friend, Janice, for the benefit that was being put on for her.  When we arrived, we ran into friends, Lara, Paul, Tracy, John, Zoie, Pam, and of course Janice.  Shortly there after, Chris, Sheila, Oscar, and Jen arrived.  I even ran into Tommy, who I had not seen for awhile, since Scottie's 50th birthday party to be exact.  It was a fun night, as all of Janice's friends came out to support her.  At the end of the night, Janice was even up on stage dancing with the Funky Seeds, http://www.funkyseeds.net/.

Kayaking at Weedon Island Preserve

On Saturday morning, Erin and I packed a couple of subs and headed down to the Weedon Island Preserve, http://www.weedonislandpreserve.org/, where we were meeting Ed and Lea for some kayaking via Sweetwater Rentals, http://sweetwaterkayaks.wordpress.com/.  Erin and I had a tandem kayak, while Ed and Lea were in their canoe.  For us, it was our first time out kayaking together, so it took us awhile to get in sync.

When we landed on Weedon Island, we had our lunch and noticed hundreds of baby crabs running all over the island.  The varied from an inch, up to 6 inches in size.

Rush at the Ford Amphitheater

On Saturday night, Erin and I headed to the Ford Amphitheatre, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1-800-ASK-GARY_Amphitheatre, in Tampa to see Rush, http://www.rush.com/.  I've seen Rush now on every tour since their Power Windows tour in 1985.  Gotta keep the streak going!
