Dad's Birthday

On Sunday, December 28th, a day before his actual birthday, we celebrated Dad's birthday at my house.  December 29th is also my parents wedding anniversary too.  My Mom made stuffed shells, I made the homemade sauce, and we had garlic bread for dinner.  I also ordered a Carvel ice cream cake for his birthday.  

Lani was still here from Colorado and she was my Dad's little buddy that day, as she followed him around the house all day calling, 'Pete . . . Pete.'  They also played hide-and-seek chasing each other around the house and danced in the living room during Momma Mia.  

 

Christmas Day 2008

Christmas Day the family got together over Uncle Frank and Auntie Nancy's house.  We had homemade lasagne, which my Mom made, and turkey on the grill for Christmas dinner.    

Christmas Eve 2008

Christmas Eve was at my parents house where it is an annual tradition that we have homemade cabbage soup and homemade pierogies.  This year we had cheese and cabbage pierogies, ocasionally we also make apple and blueberry, which tatste more like a desert then anything.  It starts in mid December, where we get together each year and make them from scratch at my parents house.  This year we also had white clam sauce over linguini, since Uncle Donald isn't a big fan of pierogis.  Dennis, Lea, and Lani also flew in from Colorado for Christmas Eve to spend time with the family during the holidays.

After we had our Christmas Eve dinner, Dennis and I took the reins in passing out the presents to everyone.  Lily, Luci, and Lani were all having a blast as they played with a the various talking Christmas figures that they had around the house.  Overall, it was a fun filled evening with the family together to celebrate Christmas.
